Financing operations
Multi-source financing
Domov Sue Ryder is using several different means of obtaining financial resources to ensure the running of its operations. Thanks to this system we are able to provide care for all elderly clients who cannot afford care at its actual price. The maximum price of such care is furthermore regulated by law. Income from clients thus on average covers only a half of its real costs. The current structure of Domov's financing is certainly far from ideal - we are still greatly dependant on uncertain incomes such as subsidies or financial grants.
Main sources of income
Income from clients are defined by a pricelist of services. Included in this category are acommodation, meals, payments for optional activities and payments from health insurance companies.
Income from sales and fundraising, including revenue from our charity shops, the restaurant, entrance fees from cultural events, income from rentals, donations from individuals and companies as well as income from benefit events.
Subsidies and grants are a substantial part of Domov's financing. Subsidies are provided by government institutions such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Culture. Domov Sue Ryder is also a regular benefactor of grants from the Prague City Hall, the Prague 4 City Council and several foundations.
