On Wednesday 18th November 2009 the Olympic fire burned brightly in the Domov once again. It was lit by Matěj Lejsal, Domov's Director, who ceremonially started the fifth Geriolympics, a traditional autumn sports competition of our clients.
This year's geriolympics had a nautical theme to them. Our clients with their asisstants tied knots, sailed through storms, anchored boats and even tried fishing. Four teams took part in the competition and in the end the yellow team from the Day Centre emerged victorious. Congratulations!
All of our rehabilitation staff participate on the organization of the geriolympics. During the competition itself, our clients are joined by several volunteers and by other employees of the Domov - be it staff from direct care or administration.
